If you're not willing to settle for "nothing can be done", we can help.
What is tinnitus?
Tinnitus is the perception of sound when no corresponding external sound is present. Most people will describe it as a ringing sound or a buzzing sound, but no two patients will describe tinnitus exactly the same. For some people, tinnitus is something they are easily able to adapt to and ignore, while others find it distracting and bothersome. Everyone is a little bit different when it comes to tinnitus.
What treatment should one choose?
First things first: Don't ever let someone tell you, "nothing can be done" or "learn to live with it". There are a variety of evidence-based treatments and typically, the recommended treatments depend upon the cause of a person's tinnitus and when the tinnitus does or doesn't bother them.
